California has over 30 million cars. No, not on the road all at once, thank Buddha.

California was raised on getting that oil out of the ground and into cars.

Our Senior Drivers may not drive that much anymore, but they are actually a very large part of the government revenue pie.

And the State of California will do everything it can to protect its right to collect money from our Seniors in the most greedy of ways.

California Air Resources Board is running full blast at solving Global Warming right? OK so they mentioned carpooling on pag 177 of that 189 page document. But actually they are trying something new. Ethanol.

And when the subcommittee that was legally charged with Environmental Justice of the execution of California AB-32 the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006....when the head of that committee was granted a special 15 minute presentation....she begged the Board to slow down on the "Low Carbon Fuel Standard".

Of course we have since learned that Governor Swa (oh who cares ) was on the phone with the good Chairman urging the board to approve the plan as designed. It really makes you wonder how seriously politicians take public comment....or their own laws...that they wrote and signed. And the Good Professor Sperling swore to all of us there...that this so called "food vs fuel" argument was of no bearing.

We had only Professor Sperling...who co wrote the work on California's Low-Carbon-Fuel Standard...reasurring us that "no one wants corn based ethanol". A wonderfully strong statement from one of the 9 people who would help upset the worlds economy of food.

So the price of Gas in California is about to drop below $3 a gallon. And yet oil is about to hit record prices.

What gives?

Well the Oil companies know that we are thinking about carpooling. So they are dropping the price of gas to keep us from thinking about changing our ways.

Those of us in California ... Progressive California mind you .... are rejoicing over the new announcement of tighter EPA rules.

OK so the EPA rules are not really that tighter.

On the bright side, while there are 345 new cities that fail the tigher EPA rules....there is a bright side for Los Angeles.

It all makes no difference to LA....

It appears that AB 32 (Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006) Legislation may be beginning to show its thin shell.

Two of the top people at the California Air Resources Board have left. Just when they got the early actions approved too.

Is this just a way for some politicians to have someone else to blame for global warming than themselves.
